Built to Give Back: Our Hero Homez Program
NatureView is honoring five deserving military families with brand new homes, donated as a gift of gratitude and community.
As part of our commitment to service and community, The Jay Odom Group is gifting five homes to military families nominated by local military organizations. These homes are being built in partnership with DSLD Homes and Holiday Builders—each fully constructed and move-in ready at no cost to the family.
🏅 This is not just a donation. It’s a legacy. A permanent thank-you in the form of a home.
NatureView Hero Homez
At NatureView in Freeport, Florida, community is at the heart of everything we do. As part of our vision for this new 792-homesite master-planned community in Walton County, we have set aside five lots to build 5 homes to honor those who give so much to protect and serve us every day.
What is the Hero Homez Program?
The NatureView Hero Homez program builds and donates five brand-new homes to local Hometown Heroes — including military families, Gold Star families, and first responders. This initiative is our way of giving back to those who dedicate their lives to the safety, freedom, and well-being of the Emerald Coast community.
How Are Families Selected?
There is no application process. Instead, we are partnering directly with respected local organizations—such as Eglin Air Force Base, Hurlburt Field, Duke Field, the 7th Special Forces Group, and Walton County Sheriff’s Office and Walton County Fire. These trusted partners carefully select deserving families within their own ranks. They know best which families have sacrificed and served in ways that deserve this lasting gift.
Sharing the Journey
As each Hero Home is built and each family is selected, we will share their story online and throughout the community. From groundbreaking to move-in day, it will be shared so neighbors and future residents can celebrate together.
The 7th Special Forces Group has already selected the first recipient: a Gold Star Family. As their home is built within NatureView in Freeport, we will be sharing their journey—highlighting their story of sacrifice and resilience, and the community’s gratitude for their service.
Through each Hero Home, NatureView honors the values of service, strength, and connection, while creating a lasting legacy in Walton County. Families will enjoy life surrounded by the natural beauty and protected conservation lands of Nokuse Plantation and the State of Florida, just minutes from South Walton’s world-famous white-sand beaches.
Why We Do This
The Jay Odom Group, in partnership with DSLD Homes and Holiday Builders, is committed to making NatureView more than just a neighborhood. By honoring heroes through this program, we are building homes that represent gratitude, legacy, and community strength—creating a brighter future for families in Freeport, Walton County, and the Emerald Coast for generations to come.
